Dave Dowdell Wins 2007 WCCC Event # 4 at LACR!

Points leader Dave Dowdell and his red C5 A4 won event #4 of the 2007 West Coast Corvette Challenge against runner-up and reformed import racer Tony Hamilton and his blue C6 MN6 at Los Angeles County Raceway. Dave dialed a 13.30 to Tony's 12.70. Dave had about a tenth better light and was able to hold off Tony for an off throttle MOV of .241 at 13.409 and 97.21 mph. This was Dave's eleventh Corvette Challenge win! Congratulations, Dave!

Gates opened at LACR at 9am and we finished around 3pm. We shared the track with Pontiac Drag Days, 10.5-12.5 brackets, and three amber practice. It was in the low 80's and no wind. We had good track prep, no crashes, and no spills all day.

Gary Combs (silver C5 A4) was the semi-finalist today, and was Closest to Dial with a 14.193 on a 14.180.

Dave Dowdell, in addition to his win, earned the NAPA Auto Parts/LACR trophy for best first round reaction time with a .008. Later on, in the semi final, Dave put together a .007 package with a .006 RT and a 13.301 ET on a 13.30 dial. These days beating Dave is almost as gratifying as winning the race.
