It was a light crowd at LACR, gates opened at 9am and we finished around 2pm. We shared the track with only the Early Riders/Road Kings and three amber practice. The wind was up and blowing sand on the track, and we went down to one practice lane about an hour before eliminations. The LACR crew prepped the track for about a half-hour before eliminations and we drew names out of the hat for lane assignments. As it turned out, the left lane was about a half second slower because of the sandy traction issues. One of our racers, Rocky Zarillo, unfortunately had to waste a .038 RT in the first round when he wisely had to get out of his run at about 300 feet. Thankfully, everyone at the track was mindful of the conditions, and we had no crashes or close calls at all.
Our Semifinalist was Dave Dowdell, who has been in the semis in each race so far this year.
