Saturday, September 17th was a clear, breezy, sunny racing afternoon and evening in the California high desert, with the temperatures ranging from the high 80s in the afternoon to mid 60s by the end.

Jim Holland prevailed over Phil Reese with Phil red lighting by a mere .009. Jim ran his red C5 coupe, with newly installed Borla exhaust system from the WCCC auction. Many thanks to our sponsor, Borla, for providing the exhaust for the auction. And thanks to A & A Corvette Performance trophy for his third win of the for sponsoring the trophy and gift certificate for the first place finish.

Phil Reese moved into the finals by stopping Dave Dowdell, our current points leader. Phil's beautiful black C3 ran a 12.515ET on a 12.25 dial with a .108RT. With this win Phil took home the A & A Corvette Performance sponsored Runner-Up trophy. Phil sponsored Runner-Up trophy and gift certificate.

Semi finalist Rochelle Dowdell, 2004 WCCC champion, also took home the closest to dial trophy, sponsored by Vapor Trail Vettes in Santa Maria California, for her 13.407 ET on a 13.35 dial. Semi-finalist Dave Dowdell extended his first place lead to 100 points. Both Dave and Rochelle earned Simpson Racing gift certificates for their efforts.

Gary Combs took home the NAPA Auto Parts/Los Angeles County Raceway Best Reaction Time Trophy with a .021 RT in the first round.

WCCC was pleased to see first time WCCC racers Mark Yapelli, Oatis Biggers and Martin Rangel at the track and hope to see you again soon.
