Our other semi-finalist, Florian Meyer, along with Nat Hodgson, earned Simpson Racing gift certificates for their efforts. Florian raced his yellow C5. Nat came from Las Vegas to race with us and competed quite well against the WCCC. Nat is also a past WCCC event winner (May 04 in Las Vegas).
Nat took an armload of hardware home. Nat earned the NAPA Auto Parts/Los Angeles County Raceway Best Reaction Time trophy with a .041 RT in the first round. The trophy is awarded to the racer with the best first round reaction time. Nat also took home the Closest to Dial trophy, sponsored by Vapor Trail Vettes in Santa Maria California, for his 14.021 ET on a 14.00 dial.
More congratulations to first round winners Jim Lane, Al Carrington, Bernie Longjohn, and Rochelle Dowdell.
Mike Hickman had the low ET in eliminations with a 12.19 at 115.60, and had run 12.08 earlier in time trials. Mike lost in WCCC first round, but changed lanes over to the track sponsored Ford vs Chevy event and went all the way the semi-finals. Thanks to Mike and his wife for coming out in their yellow supercharged Z06.
We all want to wish Good Luck to Brian Cunningham, who is in the Persian Gulf area right now.
Thanks again to Bernie Longjohn and his crew for another well-organized great race day at our home track!
