Phil Reese backed up his July WCCC event win by going five rounds in his ’73 C3 automatic coupe to once again take the A & A Corvette Specialties winner's trophy & gift certificate. Phil’s road to victory included a third round bye run, and ended with a final round win over LACR track owner Bernie Longjohn in the C6, who had earned a semi-final round bye run to advance to the finals. Phil’s winning final round effort was 0.548 R/T, running 14.150@99.67 on a 13.90 dial, to Bernie’s redlight 13.634@103.40 on a 13.49 dial. Bernie took home the A & A Corvette Specialties sponsored runner-up trophy & gift certificate for his efforts.
Congratulations to semi-finalist Jim Lane, driving an ’89 automatic coupe. Jim received a
Simpson Racing
sponsored semi-final round gift certificate for his efforts this month. Jim was the number one qualifier in the first round of eliminations, running a 14.609 on a 14.60 dial, earning him a second round bye run.

Bob Meyers took home the West Coast Corvettes sponsored Best Reaction Time Trophy and gift certificate, awarded for the best RT of the first round of eliminations, with a 0.514. Bob also had the Low ET for the day of 12.091@ 114.33. The WCCC thanks the track and tower crew at LACR. As usual, the event went off without a hitch. I also want to give a big thanks from the WCCC, to all of the participants & families that continue to come out to the track and support the our events.
The WCCC also would like to welcome our newest competitor, Linda Reese driving a 2000 Magnetic Red C5 ‘Vert. Linda and today’s winner Phil, make up the second WCCC husband & wife racing team, along with today’s runner-up Rochelle Dowdell, and myself.
