Winner: Ron Stark
Runner-Up: Henry Mynatt
Semi-Finalist: Bob Moore
Best Reaction Time: Ron Stark .559
Low E.T.: Tony Marno 12.197
Ron Stark wins five rounds with his '82 coupe to take home the A & A Corvette Specialties sponsored Winner's trophy an gift certificate. Ron was on fire with great reaction times all day, and also took home the West Coast Corvettes sponsored Best Reaction Time Trophy awarded for the best RT of the first round of eliminations, with a 0.559. Ron also had the best RT in time trials, giving him the opportunity for the first round bye run, but as luck would have it, there were an even number of cars... so no bye run available for the first round. Congratulations to Ron for a super performance all day long.

The runner-up for the day was our repeat long haul driver, Henry Mynatt in his '01 Z06, who has been traveling from Tracy, CA each of the last three events to race with us. Henry received a semi-final round bye-run into the finals and took home the A & A Corvette Specialties sponsored runner-up trophy and gift certificate. Congratulations to Henry and a big thanks for making the long trip to race with us for the past three events. I applaud your enthusiasm. Ron Stark

Making it into the semi-final round, was Bob Moore in his '00 'Vert. Bob received a complimentary 12 month subscription to VETTE magazine.

On a disturbing note, the first round of eliminations was an overall disaster in that we had 9 of 20 drivers red-lighting, with two double break-out races(one of which was mine race...I lost, as I was first to foul)...7 races out of 10 decided at the tree. I've never seen so many drivers go red in the same round.

The day started off with a few problems, with Al Carrington's smog pump locked up on his '84 coupe as he rolled into the track.... luckily we got a replacement pump at Auto Zone a few miles from the track and he replaced the pump with some help from Romeo and others. Al only missed the first time trial run. He also managed to win the first round elimination race. One 100 mile plus, trailer ride home avoided.

But Les Gazinski needed the trailer today, as his '92 coupe's newly repaired radiator...less than a week old I believe...sprang a leak during the first time trial pass, ending his day early.

Thanks to all of our participants. I appreciate your participation. Also, many thanks to Mike and Alice V. and Gary and Chris C. for all of their help in making these WCCC events run so smoothly.

Next WCCC race is May 15th at LVMS in Las Vegas…Gates open at noon, tech area opens at 2:00PM, with exclusive WCCC time trials from 3:30 to 4:30PM, with general time trials from 4:30 to 7:45PM(3 runs). From 7:45 to 8:30PM there will be a single run 'Bracket Run For The Money' race for an extra $20 entry fee...closest to dial without breaking out wins. Then eliminations for all classes begins at 8:30PM. I hope to everyone there!! -dave
